Spontaneous Watercolor and Digital Paint Over
Inspired by a painting I saw on the Mind Of Watercolor, I first created the watercolor painting you see below. I then embellished the design with a digital paint over in Photoshop.

Marker Monday 7-25-16
One of the most memorable photographs Space Turtle brought home from his expedition was this portrait of a Green Eyed Tree Worm. Convincing one to stop eating trees long enough to get a decent photo required quite the negotiation.
The Green Eyed Tree Worm was drawn with markers and color pencils. The picture frame was added in Photoshop.
This is how my drawing table looks while I'm working. It's a good size drawing table and there's just enough room for my sketchbook. If the table was bigger, I would just have more "stuff" on it.

Green Goblin JMH
This started out as a "shape exercise" and slowly morphed into a goblin of some sort. I wanted it to look funny, but a little creepy at the same time - - at least that's how it looks to me.
FYI - painted in Photoshop.

Blue Jungle Dog
The Blue Jungle Dog is a very rare breed of hairless dog that is often seen wearing an orange sweatshirt because deep down they're Syracuse fans, but they don't know how to read or write so they don't bother to put that on the sweatshirt.
This drawing started off as a "mouse" like creature, but as I continued to work/draw/paint it slowly morphed into a "dog" or something. The animation below shows the very rough doodle on paper done with a red color pencil. The next two frames show how I refined it in Sketchbook Pro (I'm still working with the very first version of this program). The last frame shows additional work done in Photoshop CS2 (yeah I know that's old also, but sometimes that's how it goes).

Duck and Barn
Although this duck looks almost identical to the one I posted yesterday it is in fact an entirely different drawing. This version was done in my watercolor sketch book, inked and then "colored" with watercolor paints. The background scene is a Photoshop painting I did a few years ago. After taking a photo of the new duck painting I brought it in to Photoshop and put the images together. The colors of the new watercolor duck are exactly the same as the marker version, but I tweaked them a bit to work with the colors of the background scene.

George Clooney Composite
George, Gravity is catching up to you. Ha ha. Only kidding. I thought I would composite my drawing with one of my paintings and some of the photos I've taken.

Watercolor Plus Digital
This painting started out as a traditional watercolor. I then took a photo of it, brought it in to Photoshop and painted a few elements over the top.

New Rower Version
As I mentioned when I posted this watercolor back in January, I intended to add a person rowing in the foreground. I ended up doing this digitally after taking a better photograph of the painting one day when the Sun finally came out and the light offered me a chance to get truer colors. The digital work is a bit of a cheat I suppose, but I like the look.
I think it's going to be a quite a while before we see any open water here in upstate New York.

Puppy Dog
Some people have suggested that a puppy dog was in my future and well, I guess they were right. Here she is.
I sketched this out on paper first and then brought it in to Photoshop. Once in Photoshop, I redrew the entire sketch modifying a few things as I went along. I wanted it to be cartoony so I kept the rendering pretty flat and tried to focus on the expression and colors.

Digital Variation of Marker Monday
I think that the title pretty much says it all. Before I began the most recent Marker Monday rendering, I had sketched out some different ideas. I brought one of the ideas in to Photoshop where I redid the line work, then started adding color, texture and background elements.

Color Pencil Plus Digital
Do you recognize this TV personality? Post your guess in the Comments section. Eternal Glory for the first correct entry.
This drawing was created using black, white and red color pencil. I then photographed it, brought it in to Photoshop and used a couple of different techniques to play with the face texture and darken the suit, while still retaining the hand drawn look. I left the hair untouched - - how could anyone improve on that coiffure?
