Balanced Rock
This watercolor painting shows three glacial erratics that are on an exposed slab just shy of the summit of Pitchoff Mountain in the Adirondacks of New York. Each of the large rocks is roughly the size of your local mail delivery truck and sit only yards away from the declivity leading down to the Cascade Lakes. I hiked Pitchoff Mountain this past summer right after hiking Cascade and Porter Mountains.
